Marketing with LinkedIn – A Crazy Simple Way to Drive Traffic

As a marketer and entrepreneur, sometimes it’s very easy overlook the simple things that are right there in front of you. But if you can collect these nuggets along the way like a modern Pac-Man, and make them part of your marketing plan, they can make a big difference over time.

This is a crazy simple little tactic for LinkedIn marketing I want to share with you men that takes literally a minute but can mean the difference between someone checking out your blog or website and not.

Here are the quick steps:

  1. Go to your LinkedIn profile and click on Edit Profile.
  2. Go to Websites
  3. The screen comes up for you to add your websites and by default it says ‘My Website’ – click there to change that title to ‘Other’
  4. That will provide you with an two open boxes. The first is called ‘Website Title’ – this is the key and where you should get a little creative. Create a title here with more of a call to action to your target market – for example for my blog I wrote: For Men Who Are Marketers. That makes it much more interesting and enticing to click on than simply My Website or My Blog to which I reply, “Who Cares?”
  5. The second box is called ‘URL’ and that where you’ll put your URL obviously.

There you have it. A minute of your time and you’ve shifted a key piece of your profile to be target market-centric instead of being about you, and that my friend is what marketing is all about.
